Brea Households Get Three Free Bulky-Item Pickups Annually, With Up to 20 Items Each

BREA — November 3, 2026. Brea’s Spring 2026 city newsletter says eligible three-cart residential customers receive three no-charge bulky-item collection appointments each year, accepting up to 20 qualifying items per appointment.

What the city includes

The municipal announcement names mattresses, water heaters, sofas and chairs among items that may be collected. The city also advertises no-charge electronic-waste collection without a stated annual appointment limit for that category.

Schedule before placing items outside

Residents must contact Republic Services at 714-238-2444 to make arrangements and confirm any item-specific requirements. An unconfirmed pile left at the curb may obstruct public access and create an illegal dumping issue.

Do not include dangerous chemicals

Paint, solvents, batteries and other hazardous substances follow different disposal processes. Brea directs residents to Orange County’s collection centers for household hazardous waste.
